Is November corresponds to a slump?

In fact, November is not part of the high season for Transat, as it marks the end of many of our flights to Europe and the beginning of our South season. However, for these two markets in November with its own set of advantages and it remains a very pleasant month to fly.

How to explain this downturn?

What you should know is that Transat has two main markets:

• The South, that is to say, the sun destinations from Canada, sold as all inclusive packages plane-hotel transfers.

• Transatlantic, that is to say, about thirty European destinations that we sell to Canadians, and a dozen Canadian destinations that we sell to the Europeans.

From May to October, 65% of our business is on the transatlantic market, 25% in France and 10% in the southern market. From November to April, 80% of our activities are in the South and 10% on the transatlantic market and in France. November thus marks a change of season and scored market for Transat.

Is it the right time to shop for a trip?

People generally shop their trip months in advance. It remains, of course, last minute deals for travel in November, but the choice is less extensive. The ideal is really the same book in advance for a period less in demand to make sure to have his first choice.

What parts of the world do you recommend at this time of the year?

The Pacific coast is always a good choice at this time of the year. Puerto Vallarta, for example, offers beach culture and the weather is mild. Paris is to be seen any time of the year. Why not plan a shopping trip in Paris before the end of year celebrations. November is spring in South America. Transat Discoveries proposes several circuits, including Chile, Argentina and Ecuador: between nature and culture.

What do you consider the advantages of traveling at this time of the year versus the more traditional periods?

The fact that there are fewer tourists in Europe, for example, makes them easy and enjoyable visits, since there is less waiting to major attractions. This also allows more interaction with the locals.
