Blue tourism (or coast)
Called Blue Tourism Tourism Destined for the holidays near the sea. This is the first tourist destination (36% of overnight stays) and privileged tourist area of the French (33.6% of stays in 2006). France has 5500 km of coastline which 3,800 km Atlantic coast and 1700 km Mediterranean coast. This coastline is composed of 35% sandy beaches, 24% of marshes and mud flats, rocky coasts 28% and 13% of cliffs. The resorts are around 200.
